Giveaway #3 - Frolicking Fiber

First thing I want to say is thank you to everyone for stopping by and signing up for the drawings. Many of you are new to me and I'm wondering how many readers I have versus how many people leave comments. It's an interesting phenomena of blogs. I know I read more blogs than I comment on. I guess it's normal.

Crocheting is another hand craft I learned from my grandmother. The first project I remember making was a pink and blue granny square afghan. There were six squares, each about 12 inches big, in the afghan. I know I still had it when my children were born, but when we moved my parents out of their house a few years ago the afghan was nowhere to be found.

Fast forward to last May. Mr. E's baptism was getting close and out of nowhere I get the urge to crochet him a white baptism afghan. A quick trip to the LYS and two weeks later his afghan was done. It's probably a good thing I didn't start crocheting sooner as we used to live two doors down from the LYS. Imagine the money I would have spent in there!
But the projects for Mr. E didn't stop there. Over the summer I crocheted him two sweaters and this hat, all of which he has now outgrown.
I also crocheted him this scarf. I think it will last at least one more winter.
Even the Hotel Man received a crocheted scarf.
I love crocheting. I love the feel of the yarn sliding through my fingers. I love watching a ball of yarn become a sweater or a scarf or an afghan under my patient fingers.

So by now you've figured out the Giveway #3 is Frolicking Fiber.

The package will start with these three skeins of Naturally Caron yarn. This yarn is super scrumptious and fun to work with whether you crochet or knit. I've made a few projects with the yarn and love it.
The package will be completed with items based on what the winner's favorite yarn activity is. Do you like to knit socks? Perhaps you like to crochet granny squares? Maybe you want to learn to knit or crochet.

Tell me what you would with the yarn in your comment so if your name is drawn I can complete the package. Also if you haven't entered one of the other drawings, please tell me how you follow my blog.

The drawing is open until March 31, 2010. I will draw the winner on April 1, 2010. You may enter each drawing, but I will only accept one entry per person per drawing.

For information on Giveaway #2 go here. For Giveaway #1 go here.

Hotel Man is coming home tonight from being out of town. I will probably have the next giveaway up on Saturday.

Have a great weekend!
Sweet P

I have just recently learned how to knit. I have a pattern for some mittens that I am wanting to do for my daughter. I would probably make a scarf and hat to match too.

I am working on my second pair of socks - they are not perfect but I really want to be a sock knitter so I am persevering and continuing on. What weight is this yarn?

Well Paula, you know I love both knitting and crochet, but those colors just seem to be begging me to use them together in a crocheted scarf, much like the Jacob's Ladder one I have on my For Sale page. I love combining colors like that. And I have yet to try this particular yarn, even though I have a few skeins of it in my cabinet!

I've been reading your blog for a long time, but I don't know if I've ever commented. Sort of a lurker, ya know? LOL

I crochet and knit; nothing difficult tho, gave that up years ago. I'm content plugging along on a knitted scarf or crocheted afgan.

I also learned how to quilt about 5 years ago & that's become all consuming!!

Having just started knitting, I would love to win that yarn. Can't say I know what I would do with it yet, but I've found a few patterns I would love to try once I get a little more practice under my belt...a handbag is what I'm thinking I'm going to try first, or maybe a scarf, or hat, or mittens, or..... Oh, I am just so excited by all the possibilities :cD
I know what you mean about commenters and lurkers, I have days where I feel like I'm talking to myself, but then I think of all the blogs I lurk on too, and realize there are readers out there, and I'm thankful for each and every one of them.

I love knitting it is such a relaxing hobby.

We live in quite a hot climate but even mid-summer my son loves to 'snuggle' under a soft cover. I would use the cotton yarn to knit him a light summer blanket.

been reading your blog for years!
we knit baby blankets to donate to the local hospital for low income families or unwed moms, there is a project in the living room that my DD or I work on till its done...
would probably use the yarn for that, I have wanted to try knitting my own dish clothes too, wonder if I could do that with the bamboo blend one.
I only enter the drawings for things I know I will use
thats why this is my first comment on the drawings.
Thanks!!!
Kathie

I knit & crochet, depending on what I'm in the mood for & what the yarn looks like it would work up in best. That yarn looks as though it would make a very lovely pair of knit socks.

I only knit. I knitted my mother a chemo hat out of the Naturally Spa bamboo blend. It is really soft. Those colors together would make a beautiful baby blanket or shawl.

Hi. I found your blog through Deb's Blog Contest Site. I've added you to my Bloglines feed. I understand what you're saying about readers vs. people interested in a giveaway, just went through that experience on my own blog. (^_^)

Long time knitter here, and I've used the Spa yarn, it's absolutely wonderful! I'm thinking a lacy scarf - the bamboo drapes so nicely. Thanks for the giveaway!

A few years ago I gave up crochet due to hand pain, and took up knitting instead. I can't imagine not being able to work with yarn at all (shuddering)! I'd probably make caps, although the colors work so well together a larger project using all three is tempting.
