My Doll Quilt Swap Arrived

I arrived home from work tonight after driving through the rain to find a package waiting for me at the top of my stairs. No, it wasn't Harry Potter - that was sent to my office for my son and he picked it up today. Instead it was my Doll Quilt Swap Quilt. Tami at Lemon Tree Tales sent me this stunning quilt appropriately called Purple Rain.

The quilt is jaw dropping gorgeous. I was speechless as I took time to admire the choice of fabrics, the quilting and even the embroidery she included on the front. How did she know I love to dream in the rain?

The back of the quilt is just as beautiful as the front. The color in the photo doesn't do the quilt justice. The batik is a deep purple highlighted with lavenders. The quilting is done with a variegated thread and adds a fantastic finishing touch to the quilt.

For now the quilt is on my design wall until I decide what to do with it. I don't have any dolls so the quilt will most likely stay on display somewhere in my studio.

Thanks for a gorgeous quilt Tami!

What a lovely quilt and I love the name. I certainly would make a wonderful bed size quilt also. I wonder if the maker of this quilt is a Prince fan.

WOW! What a great quilt. the fabric and colors work so well with each other. The "dream" on the bottom just make the quilt so much more special.

I'm so excited that you love the quilt Paula! I wasn't exactly sure what your favorite colors were. But when I saw that you were making the Wicked Girly quilt I figured that you'd be happy with purple. Hmm, am I a Prince fan? Not too much. It's just that that's a great name for anything purple. Or I guess that I could have called it Purple Haze but somehow the arrows seemed more like rain. :-)

I didn't sew on a sleeve because I wasn't sure what you'd do with it. But someone suggested sewing on little plastic eyelets to the top to use for hanging from little nails on the wall. I think that's what I'll do with mine when it arrives. :-)

You certainly hit the jackpot with that little quilt, it's gorgeous. I think I would have had a hard time giving it away if I'd made it. Actually I probably would have made one for myself at the same time......

Wow that is gorgeous. I think it almost rates getting a doll to display it with.:-D
I think the next time the doll quilt swap goes around I am certainly going to have to join. Seeing the quilts everyone has been making has been great fun.
