Fall Swap and Date Night

My I Love Fall Swap package arrived from Tammy. She sent a package of fall notecards, a small pumpkin and and pumpkin salt and pepper shakers. Thanks, Tammy! I love these items. Have you received your package yet?
DH and I had a date night on Friday. Our date started with a trip into town. Now, a trip into town may not sound exciting, but for us it was fun. We lived in downtown Dover for 5 years and loved it. We moved out of town 19 months ago when we bought our condo. We now live on the "south side" of town. We live close to the highway and work further south so going into town doesn't happen unless we go to the butcher shop.

Anyway, back to our date. DH needed a hair cut. His barber lives behind our old apartment. While he was getting his hair cut I went to Spinning Yarns. I lived 100 feet from this store for over 5 years and never went in there! What a shame! Obviously I don't need another project, but I did buy these two balls of Melody 100% fingering weight sock yarn. I fell in love with the yummy fall colors. I have a scarf pattern I'd like to make with it. Maybe I'll get to it this year, maybe not. We'll see.
The rest of our date night included dinner in town and then we went to see the new Matt Damon movie, The Informant. The movie was OK, but not outstanding.

Saturday night one of our nephews came to spend the night. We took him to the arcade, spent time cooking with him and just hung out. Yesterday Mr. E was here for football Sunday. He has decided that it's fun to eat cereal. Yesterday he also had a banana for the first time and thought it was really yummy!

I'm still stitching away on my Angel Hugs and Stitcher's Angel projects. The Angel Hugs needs to get in the mail this week. I have a little more time on the Stitcher's Angel projects.

What are you working on?

Sounds like a lovely date with your husband!

I just wrapped up my little gifties for the Halloween Apron Swap which I will mail out at the end of the week. I also have my Friendship bag swap ready to wrap up and mail. I have finished my Stitcher's Angel swap gifts, but still need to find a few little gifties to include. I also like to wait until all the free patterns have been presented, just in case something comes along that I like better than what I already made!

I'm also waiting on fabric to arrive for the red and aqua disappearing 9 patch swap, and the I Spy square swap. Those will be so fun to receive because of the variety that always shows up in the mailbox.

After all that, I am still on the lookout for inspiration what to make for Chookyblue's Christmas swap. I still have plenty of time for that though.

BEsides all that, the usual family and household stuff which really makes up most of the day. And loving this beautiful fall weather!

Sometimes what seem like the simple-est of times to someone else can mean the most to us. :)

I'm working on my Chookyblue swap today. I made the main gift and now need to make an ornament. Also, my Angel project needs one more thing. I may work on that tomorrow. These two swaps have been a lot of fun!!
Happy sewing over there!!

My daugher (age 24) is always laughing at my husband and I for the little things we find so much pleasure in doing together. Going to town, dinner and a movie would be a big night out for us. Looks like some male bonding going on during that football game.

I received my I Love Fall swap package today - FROM YOU! Yeah! Thank you so much Paula, I love it all. The glass pumpkin is absolutely gorgeous and I love that tin. I'm working on a couple of Halloween banners for my kids who have their own families now and the fabric you sent is perfect! I had to laugh when I opened the package, because after work today I swung by Joanne's for a couple of things and picked up 1/2 a yard of Halloween fabric while I was there. It was the same polka-dot fabric that you included in the package! Too funny and perfect, since I want to use it in my banners and now I should have plenty without the worry of running short. Thanks much!
(My camera batteries were dead, so they are re-charging now and I will get pictures and post in a day or two)
