I finished the Mystery Project from Laura Perin's website. The directions call for beads in the middle of the flowers, but I haven't decided if I will add them or not.
Recently I joined Janet Perry's Bargello Mittens and Mini Socks Bargello Club. I have decided to stitch mittens. This is the first pattern done in a vertical Bargello stitch. I used Caron Watercolors in African Violets and a deep yellow DMC floss. The cuff is done with fingering weight yarn. This is the first Bargello project I have stitched. It was a little challenging, but I had a lot working it.
Here is a close up of the mitten.
I mentioned I used fingering weight yarn in the mitten. Here is another project I am stitching using fingering yarn. This is another project from one of Janet's clubs, her Stash Club. The yarn is a collection of mini hanks from Sunflower Yarns. My plan is to make a 6 x 6 inch square and put it on top of wooden box.
Mr. E celebrated his third birthday on April 8th and this past Saturday we had his birthday party here. This is our favorite photo of him from the festivities. He had a lot of fun celebrating birthday. His exuberance reminded us how special birthdays are!
That's all the news for now. What's happening with you?
Sweet P

Hi Paula, all your little stitcheries are just lovely! I have not done needlepoint in a really long time! I love the colors in the mystery project...so soft and calming. I would say add the beads. It will finish the design off nicely. But then if you don't like them, you can always take them out.
School vacation for my kids this week and our weather is picture perfect, today especially! I hope you get to enjoy it too!

I love the color combination in the mitten, that bright blue with yellow is one of my favorites. It always looks so French to me.
YOu mentioned hyou were stitching this in fingering weight yarn. It's one of my big favorites too. My next project (got to finish at least one first) is going to be mostly Koigu fingering weight yarns.
Keep Stitching,
Janet
