DH and I spent the morning packing and cleaning out our bedroom for our move in two weeks. Way in the back of my closet I found an oxford blouse that my grandma stitched Holly Hobby on for me about 30 years ago. The design is about 12 inches tall. The shirt is stained and not wearable, but the stitchery is still in great shape. Isn't she adorable?
Once we move I think I'm going to cut the stitchery away from the blouse and make it into a wallhanging. I can't to put something my grandma made in my studio. I have an oval canvas that's been hanging out in my closet. I think she will fit perfectly on the canvas.
Thanks for all the encouragement on appliqué. I'm not going to give up. I'll keep working on it until I find the method that works best for me.
Well, lunch break is over. Time to do some more packing. A couple more hours today and then we'll stop. Other than the bedroom, I've decluttered the bathroom and cleaned the fridge. Now we are going to work on the dining room.

It will be just so sweet to have that little Holly hanging in your new studio.
This is a really precious stitchery that you have here. Will be a nice addition to your quilt studio. I love the island that you will use for your cutting table/sewing center. Good thinking!~!
Good luck with the packing and what an adorable stitchery. Come visit my blog for my latest giveaway.

what a fabulous find! I am sure it will give you great joy to look at it in your new studio.
She's adorable! I have a quilt that my Grandma made for me when I was just a little thing. It's in really bad shpae, but I love the idea of saving part of it for a wall hanging. Make sure you show us what you've done with it when it's finished.
What treasure you found! It's wonderful that you will have this memento of your Grandma to hang in your new studio.
It's such a sweet little design.
